Employability Skills Enhancement Program (ESEP)

Under the wide umbrella of ESEP, UGI offers its students a set of ‘transferable skills’ that are not specific to one particular career path but are generic across all employment sectors. UGI knows the current market trend and its needs, and also its students’ interests and potential. With this understanding and emphasis upon a mix of skills required, ESEP@UGI offers all the in-campus opportunities to the career seekers of United:

  • 01GATEWAY to ‘GATE’
  • 02Verbal Ability Program (VAP)
  • 03Campus Recruitment Training (CRT)
  • 04Technical Trainings (TT)

The training modules

GATEWAY to ‘GATE’

GATEWAY TO “GATE” is United’s revolutionary trend of mentoring for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) preparation, one of the biggest and most prestigious exams for engineering graduates, organised by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore along with all the IITs on behalf of the Government of India, NCB (National Coordination Board GATE), the Department of Higher Education and MHRD. Spread across the 6th to 8th semesters, this spiral model is an ideal preparatory forum initiated by UGI faculty for UGI students who aim to qualify GATE and go for higher studies or PSUs.

Special features of GATE2GATE

  • Making the students aware of the GATE syllabus and exam pattern.
  • Through uniform distribution of subjects/topics across the semesters, reducing the burden at the time of examination.
  • Making GATE reference books and study materials available to the students.
  • Making the students practise and solve previous years’ and sample question papers.
Verbal Ability Program (VAP) & Soft Skills Training

The “Verbal Ability Program” (VAP) is another unique feature of UGI, motivated by the pressing need for improvement in English proficiency, communication and aptitude along with other soft skills, which often limit a student’s chances of landing a job. The passionate team of experienced faculty members at United makes the students work on their Intelligence Quotient (IQ) — covering numerical, analytical and reasoning skills along with English proficiency — and also their Emotional Quotient (EQ), covering attitude, communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills.

Campus Recruitment Training (CRT)

The industry is always on the lookout for vibrant, energetic individuals who are ready to accept challenges, with a good academic background, open to learning even at work and, more importantly, with good communication skills. The recruitment process for various companies is rigorous and requires every student to enhance aptitude and attitude skills, for which UNITED has a comprehensive program designed to train students for all the stages of campus recruitment. This programme is updated regularly to keep pace with changes in the recruitment procedures adopted by various companies. It has different modules to prepare the job aspirant for the interview process:

  • Written Test or Aptitude Test (English / Quants / Reasoning)
  • Programming Skills Development (PSD) Program
  • Group Discussions
  • Pre-Placement Interviews
  • Job-specific Interview Prep-Camps
